At My Word Speech Therapy, we believe that every child deserves a voice—and the support to use it confidently. We are a family-owned and family-driven speech and occupational therapy center proudly serving the communities of Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres in Lee County, Florida.

Founded by Lizandra, a dedicated speech-language pathologist with over 25 years of experience, My Word was created to fill a deep need for accessible, bilingual, and culturally sensitive therapy services. Lizandra began her career in Cuba, where she worked in both school and medical settings for 16 years. After immigrating to the United States in 2014 with her two children, she recognized the lack of bilingual therapy options in Southwest Florida and committed herself to bringing a new standard of care to the area.

In 2023, Lizandra turned that vision into reality by opening My Word Speech Therapy—a warm and welcoming space where families are treated with compassion, respect, and individualized attention.

Meet Lizandra Garcia- Speech Pathologist and Founder of My World Speech Therapy

Lizandra is an immigrant, a mother of two wonderful children, a wife to a supportive husband, and a passionate speech-language pathologist with over 25 years of experience. Her journey began in Cuba, where she spent 16 years helping children in school and medical settings develop the ability to communicate effectively. She worked with a wide range of disabilities, always focusing on giving each child a formal and meaningful way to express themselves.

When Lizandra moved to Cape Coral, Florida, in 2014, she saw a significant need for speech therapy services—especially bilingual care—but very few practices offering it. She spent years gaining local experience, furthering her education, and preparing to bring something different to her new community.

Her journey was not easy. As an immigrant rebuilding her career in a new country, Lizandra faced many challenges—adapting to a different healthcare system, earning new credentials, and balancing her roles as a mother, wife, and professional. But her dedication never wavered. Through perseverance, hard work, and unwavering belief in her purpose, she overcame every obstacle with grace and determination.

In 2023, she proudly opened My Word Speech Therapy—a family-owned and family-run center built on compassion, cultural understanding, and clinical excellence. With the love and support of her husband and children, Lizandra created a place where families can feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Her mission is to ensure that all children, especially those from minority and underserved communities, receive high-quality, individualized therapy that helps them grow with confidence. At My Word, every child is treated like family. Lizandra is deeply selective with the therapists she brings on board, ensuring that every session is meaningful and progress-driven.
